Today is going to be an update Wednesday with all that’s going on at BoardingArea and at Hack My Trip. To get your morning going (at least mine), here are a few freebies currently available. I’ll also share some news later today about the Citi ThankYou Premier card and the Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond trial that I wrote about earlier this week and last. And don’t forget, today is the last day to participate in my Plan Your Own Hawaiian Vacation Contest.
New Girl in the Air tells us about an opportunity to get 250 Gold Plus Rewards points from Hertz. Although the perks of Gold Plus Rewards aren’t amazing, I find the biggest benefit is having all your information already in your profile. Before joining, even if I had answered all the questions during the reservation, I still got asked again at check-in. Now I get a separate line and only have to present a credit card and driver’s license. So much easier. Although you need 500 points for a free night, you should be able to combine points from household accounts. I don’t think I got these 250 points because I already signed up for email offers, but maybe you can benefit. I generally wait as long as possible to sign up for email statements (credit card bills, phone bills, loyalty programs, etc.) because there are almost always perks like this one.
There’s another offer out there for 1,000 free Priority Club points just for watching a short video about the Priority Club Rewards Visa from Chase. I already saw a similar video a few months ago and got some points, so I’m not sure my account benefitted from watching this one, too. But hey, it’s worth a shot. Hat tip to Jason at MilesQuest.
If you’re still sticking with American Airlines during their bAAnkruptcy, AAdvantage Geek tells us that they’re now offering double elite qualifying miles on flights between DFW and BOS. Use code BOSEQ to sign up. Personally I think there have been waaay too many DEQM promos being offered this year. Expect to see planes half-full of EXPs next year.
Finally, Gary at View from the Wing got a tip from a reader on a new Chase Fairmont Visa credit card offer. The link has since been killed on Chase’s end, so they may not be ready to unveil it just yet. However, it seems to have some decent benefits. Check out this thread on FlyerTalk for more discussion. On the whole it sounds a lot like the Hyatt Visa also offered by Chase.
