In the continuing spirit of upgrading the site, I’ve added a new page on current hotel credit card offers, along with my analyses. Don’t forget, I added an airline credit cards page a few weeks ago, and there’s more still to come. Check the “Credit Cards” tab in the navigation menu above.
My favorite hotel credit cards are the Hyatt Visa from Chase and the SPG American Express. They’re both great hotel chains, and the points and other benefits are incredibly valuable in my opinion. I have both and plan to keep them rather than churning. Next on my application list, however, may be the Priority Club Visa and some Hilton Amex and Visa cards that will get churned.
Since I don’t participate in a credit card affiliate network, the SPG Amex is the one card I can refer you for by email if you’re interested. I get 5,000 points for each successful application.
Free Hyatt Platinum Status
Also, don’t forget that there is an opportunity to get free Hyatt Gold Passport Platinum status for 90 days if you currently hold any Visa Signature card (and most Visas I know of are Signature brands, so check yours). This is the main reason I have the Hyatt Visa, but the two free nights at any Hyatt and the free category 1-4 night with each year’s annual fee is still a pretty good sign-up bonus. And really, can you settle for just 90 days of special treatment?
Platinum status has gotten me free WiFi, better rooms on higher floors, and even some discounts on resort fees. So check it out. It can’t hurt to sign up even if you don’t currently have any reservations made. Hat tip to One Mile at a Time.
