I meant to write this at a leisurely pace while relaxing at the United Club in Seattle. Instead I lost track of time, spent 30 minutes in traffic, picked up Megan from her office, and then made a wrong turn that sent me north instead of south, doomed to repeat that stretch of traffic yet again. But we still made it to the gate right before the door closed. I’ll make it to Singapore yet. Here are some of the deals in the last couple days that may be worth following up on.
15% off All SkyTeam Bookings – The Flight Deal
This discount code is good for flights purchased through Alitalia but can be used on any SkyTeam flight. Book between now and September 24 for travel between October 1 and March 31, 2013.
Earn 2,000 to 5,000 Marriott Points from Hertz – Loyalty Lobby
This promotion provides 2,000 points for rentals of 2-4 days and 5,000 points for rentals of 5 days or more. The offer is good through December 31 at locations in North America and Europe.
5,000 Priority Club Points at Extended Stay Brands – Loyalty Lobby
Priority Club is offering a 5,000 point bonus for two-night stays at their Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites properties between now and December 30. While 5,000 points doesn’t seem like a lot, it can be used for the occasional Points Breaks promotions that offer select hotel awards at only 5,000 points per night.
50 ANA Miles for Completing a Survey – One Mile at a Time
I know, this sounds like the lamest promotion ever. The Economist offered me a couple months free if I filled out a survey, and I still haven’t gotten around to that even though it was a better deal. But the beauty of this offer is that with some miles in your account you can avoid the usual runaround required to use ANA’s search engine to search Star Alliance partner award space.
Also, I don’t know how many of you follow PhD Comics (probably only the people in graduate school), but I found Friday’s comic to be especially relevant to my current life. Does blogging count as “writing”?
