Rewarding Recap: Big Promos from US, Club Carlson et al

I meant to do this yesterday but then collapsed of exhaustion and *whoops* woke up 8 hours later. I guess flying back from China will do that to you. :D Anyway, there’s a lot to cover. Remember to check in with all the different bloggers participating in the giveaway for two free tickets to the Star Alliance MegaDO. I am currently having an issue with my comment system, so only the most recent ones are displaying, but be assured that I do have a list of all of them on my admin panel. They’ll be restored to public view shortly. Also, is it just me or do all the words on my blog look a little closer together? I wish I were a real web designer some days…

25 Daily Giveaways from Hilton HHonors

I just got this in the mail. To celebrate their 25th anniversary, Hilton HHonors is doing a daily giveaway for 25 special prizes over 25 days. Of course, it started yesterday and I got the email today, so maybe they can spend the next 25 years working on better timing.

Stay 2, Get 1 Free from Country Inn & Suites – Mommy Points

Not the most lucrative promotion, but she also shows how to use a 50% bonus on purchased points to get a cheap stay near Disneyworld in Orlando.

Stay 1, Get 1 Free from Radisson – Just Another Points Traveler

Angelina shares a similar and, IMO, more enticing promotion to earn a free night at a Radisson hotel. This one has fewer restrictions, and I’ve been relatively pleased with my past stays at Radisson. However, keep in mind you’re only getting a free stay certificate, not 50,000 bonus points as in the past.

Stay More Nights, Earn More Points – View from the Wing

Finally, if free night certificates just aren’t going to do it for you, there is a way to earn up to 72,000 points for as many as 20 nights stayed at any Club Carlson hotel. Remember that you can redeem Club Carlson Gold Points for cash or airline miles at a pretty good rate.

First Chance to Win 1 Million Points – Very Good Points

Stacey must have been saving for a while to have so many points to give away! She’s broken them down into multiple prizes that together add up to 1 million points. Learn how to enter and win something toward your next vacation.

5,000 PC Bonus for Candelwood and Staybridge Suites – Loyalty Traveler

Ric shares a new promotion to earn a bonus 5,000 Priority Club points on your next two-night stay at either of these chains through the end of the year.

100% Bonus on Gifted US Airways Miles – View from the Wing

By sharing up to 50,000 US miles with another person, you can effectively “buy” miles at a very cheap rate. After fees associated with the transfer, your cost works out to $567.50 for 50,000 miles, or just over a penny each. And remember, it only takes 55,000 miles for an off-peak business class award to Europe if you have a US Airways credit card.

100% Bonus on Purchased US Airways Miles – Wandering Aramean

Don’t have US miles to transfer? Buy them first! Seth shares that there is also a targeted promotion to buy miles at a similarly cheap price. Since you can only transfer up to 50,000 miles (see above), buy 25,000 this way to get 50,000 total, then transfer those to end with 100,000. Seth mentions how to check to see if you’ve been targeted.

Get 250 SPG Starpoints Every Day – Mommy Points

Megan works downtown and passes the W Seattle on her way to work, so I should make her do this. Anyone can virtually “check in” using Foursquare (they still exist?) or Facebook to earn 250 points a day even if they aren’t staying at the hotel.

Increased Credit Card Bonuses for Canadians – Point Me to the Plane and View from the Wing

Adam and Gary share some new, temporarily increased sign-up bonuses for our friends north of the border. Get 15,000 bonus points for the AmEx SPG card or 50,000 Avios from the RBC British Airways Visa. UPDATE: Reader Jeff K. found a better offer for the AmEx SPG that also waives the annual fee.

10% off British Airways Bookings – View from the Wing

Those of us living in the country without the good fortune of a national strategic maple syrup reserve can use our own BA cards to get 10% off bookings made through BA.com, courtesy of information posted on MilePoint.
