Several low-cost carriers have announced fare sales this morning. Nothing quite as amazing as last week’s 40% off sale from Southwest that many carriers tried to match, but still worth looking into if you have upcoming travel.
Southwest – Carving 10 Days of Deals
Southwest may have one of the most generous sales, in terms of restrictions and fares. Book now through October 25 for travel bewteen October 26 and February 14. A few holiday blackout dates do apply, and Sunday travel is not permitted.
Virgin America – Fares to Fly By
You must book by 11:59 PM CDT today if you want to take advantage of these prices. Like Southwest, travel must be between October 23 and February 13. For the convenience of an assigned seat, mood lighting, and a hipster-friendly safety video, this may be more appealing to you.
JetBlue – The Boss-Day Sale
JetBlue gives you one less hour, until 11:59 EDT today, to book your ticket, and travel must be between October 30 and December 12. Easily the most restrictive sale of all. The fares I saw didn’t seem that much better compared to Southwest and Virgin America, but JetBlue does have a much broader international network.
(I don’t exactly understand the slogan, “Fly like a boss, pay like an intern.” These aren’t first class fares, and my intern friends always seem to have more money than me anyway, but I never understood why people would compete to spend their summer taking coffee orders in the first place.)
