We never really got a winter promotion from Hyatt Gold Passport this year, but registration is now live for More Possibilities. This offer runs from March 1 through May 31 and provides 3,000 bonus points for every three nights. You don’t have to book consecutive nights (so three separate 1-night stays are fine), but they do need to be eligible rates, which generally means you have to book directly with Hyatt. Customers who have a Hyatt Visa credit card will earn a 20% bonus, meaning 3,600 points for every three nights.
This isn’t exactly the most generous offer we’ve seen from Hyatt. What I find ironic is that the last promotion, which was merely called “Possibilities,” offered more generous awards. Now we get “More Possibilities,” and the rewards are fewer. But you take what you can get. At least I don’t need to book any three-night stays, which are almost impossible with my travel schedule.
How Can We Do Better?
Don’t forget to take advantage of any additional discounts. AAA memberships cost money, and you need your AAA membership number to complete an online reservation, but anyone can use the discount code COSTCO. Both memberships usually provide a 10% discount and a refundable rate for many domestic U.S. properties. We may also see a 24-hour sale or two pop up before this promotion ends. The point is, you should register now to make sure you get these bonus points just in case your travel plans take you to a Hyatt in the next three months.
Loyalty Traveler also mentioned several property-specific “G” bonuses that stack with the More Possibilities promotion. The most lucrative is the new L.A. Hotel Downtown, which was recently acquired and is in the process of re-branding to a Hyatt Regency.
You can earn 2,500 bonus points per night at the L.A. Hotel Downtown through May 31 when you book with the offer code LA2500. The best part? Since More Possibilities doesn’t require that you book consecutive nights, you could maximize this promotion with several 1-night stays. If you’re a Diamond Gold Passport member, you’ll also get a 1,000-point welcome amenity. That’s up to 4,700 points per night with all the different bonuses stacked together. Rates here seem to be in the $180-200 range.
